"Palisade" Medium: Mixed Media Jewelry, Encaustic/Acrylic Wood Medallion, Bronze Metal

I began my artist endeavors after
retiring as an administrator from the
Detroit Public School System. I now
live in Florida and have my "art
studio" in a screened porch that
looks out into my garden. Enjoying
the beauty of nature inspires me to
explore the wonderful avenues of
creativity. I like to use a quote that
states - "Creativity is inventing,
experimenting, growing, taking
risks, breaking rules, making
mistakes and HAVING FUN."
After some experimentation with
different mediums, I have focused
on creating HAND PAINTED ART
JEWELRY. Each piece that I create
is original and one of a kind. The
jewelry pieces are embellished with
beads, featuring semi-precious
stones, crystals, art glass and
pewter. Other decorative
adornments may include shells,
metal pieces, silver/gold/copper leaf
and other accents to form unique
necklaces and coordinating
earrings. The earrings can be
designed with clips or for pierced
ears. The art jewelry combines all
elements of art, design and craft
that are brought together into a
visually unified entity.
I am a member of the National
League of American Pen Women,
the National Museum of Women in
the Arts, the Mount Dora Art
League and the Mount Dora Center
for the Arts. My art work is
available in several Central Florida
locations, as well as, several local
art museum gift shops.
